The Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2 CPU cooler is just £5 more expensive than its predecessor, coming in at £46 at the time of writing. We think given the additional performance and the fact this cooler still retains all the core features that make Be Quiet! coolers so desirable, that price is good.
As we’ve seen the Dark Rock 2 is certainly a good looking CPU cooler. It is made with German quality and it oozes class. Yes you can get better performing CPU coolers for the same price but they won’t look anywhere near as good or be as quiet in the majority of scenarios.
Although not much has changed since Be Quiet’s predecessor to this was released, Be Quiet! are still doing something no one else do – making whisper quiet CPU coolers. As a result we think the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2 is more than deserving of the eTeknix Innovation award. It may not have the performance, it may not have the “bang-for-buck”, but it has silence and stunning aesthetics – which is more than can be said for most CPU coolers on the market. And at £46 it won’t cost an arm-and-leg to please the silence-loving enthusiast.
