be quiet! has a fantastic history in the PC market. I have been doing this long enough to remember their first generation of products, starting with a simple GPU cooler, and they’ve come a long way. Winning countless awards for their excellent quality, performance and designs in power supplies, CPU air and liquid coolers, fans, and cases. They continue to be one of the favourite choices of PC enthusiasts around the world, and with that in mind, they look set to do the same for peripherals with the launch of their new keyboards.
be quiet! is owned by Listan, who actually snapped up one of the most exciting, innovative and interesting keyboard brands of recent years, Mountain. Obviously, with a team like Mountain under their wing, combined with be quiet!’s exceptional in-house design teams, manufacturing capabilities, and reputation, we knew something pretty special would come out eventually. Today, we have two new products launching, the be quiet! Light Mount, which I would call a premium mechanical keyboard, and the be quiet! Dark Mount, which I think is fair to call an even more premium keyboard. And yes, they’ll have some gaming mice on the way soon too, so stay tuned for those.
With a focus on elite-tier performance, these new keyboards are focused on silent gaming, but with a name like “be quiet”, making a noisy keyboard would be utter madness anyway. be quiet! themselves say that they “set out to redefine silent gaming, pushing noise reduction and performance to an entirely new level.” While there are two keyboards, they each come with a choice of silent linear orange switches, or their silent tactile black switches, as well as four key layouts: US-International (ANSI), UK-English (ISO), FR-French (ISO) and DE-German (ISO).
