While AIO coolers are generally perceived now as the sexier and more premium option, I have to admit to always having a personal preference for air designs. Put simply, I like an air cooler. They’re generally solid, exceptionally reliable, and if installed well should last for years with only minimal cleaning maintenance required. With the newly released be quiet! Pure Rock 2 FX, therefore, this has already piqued my attention!
Not only is it an air cooler coming from one of the most reputable names around, but it also features ARGB lighting effects. Yes, although this is not the first time be quiet! has released an ARGB product, it does still feel more than a little weird that they’ve finally decided to dip their toe in this market. – Toe dipping, however, is something of an understatement because for what’s on offer here, be quiet! quite possibly has some of the nicest ARGB lighting effects around!
The be quiet! Pure Rock 2 FX looks to tick a lot of boxes as although acting primarily as a relatively compact performance air cooler, it also boasts some impressive aesthetics and, of course, that impressive ARGB cooling fan. Rated for up to 150W TDP, however, this is clearly suitable for the vast majority of Intel and AMD processors.
Overall, this definitely looks to be an impressive cooler in more ways than one.

“In the past 20 years, be quiet! has introduced critical acclaimed products such as the Silent Wings fan series and the Dark Rock CPU cooler series, and ground-breaking high-end products such as the Dark Base Pro 900 PC chassis and Dark Power Pro 12 PSU. To celebrate this important milestone, be quiet! is introducing a new FX product range to its portfolio, consisting of the Pure Base 500 FX chassis, Pure Loop 2 FX AIO water cooler series, and Pure Rock 2 FX air cooler. The connecting theme of these FX products is easy to spot: be quiet! has fully embraced ARGB!”
