BenQ Unveils New W5850 and W4100i Home Cinema Projectors

BenQ has just announced the launch of its new W5850 and W4100i home cinema projectors. I’m a big fan of projection at home, having invested in a big screen and projector a couple of years ago, there’s really no going back! With their implementation of their AI Cinema technology and next-generation Solid-State Illumination (SSI), they look set to be big hits too.

The new Home Cinema Series incorporates solid-state illumination across all models. These next-generation LED and laser light sources offer superior longevity, consistent brightness, and energy efficiency, ensuring a future-proof home theatre investment for all enthusiasts. Having used a bulb projector for two years, I’m well aware that yes, they’re very bright, but they output tremendous heat and require more cooling. After recently reviewing more modern LED and laser technology models, I’m tempted to check out these SSI models just for the thermal and acoustic benefits alone.

BenQ continues to lead in colour precision with its CinematicColor technology, providing factory-calibrated out-of-box accuracy with THX and ISF certifications. Each projector in the Home Cinema Series adheres to industry standards, including 100% Rec.709, 100% DCI-P3, and Delta E<3 (with high-end models achieving Delta E<2), guaranteeing true Hollywood colours as intended by directors. Furthermore, proprietary HDR-PRO technology enhances contrast through a multi-stage process – Global Contrast Enhancer, Local Contrast Enhancer, and Dynamic Black – supporting HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+ for vibrant and lifelike visuals.

What BenQ Had to Say

“As projection technology advances, consumers now seek versatile solutions for immersive, adaptable large-screen high-definition experiences that fit modern lifestyles,” stated Peter Huang, President of BenQ Corporation. “Upholding our commitment to bring directors’ authentic colours to life and drive home cinema innovation, the new BenQ Home Cinema Series meets the diverse needs of home entertainment enthusiasts ranging from beginners to expert connoisseurs.”
