Bethesda Releases Starfield Crash Fix for PS5 Pro, PS5 Update Still Pending
As promised in recent days, Bethesda has now released a patch for Starfield on PS5. The update, version 1.000.003, fixes the frequent crashes reported by players, but for now this fix is only available for PS5 Pro users.
This is basically a hotfix, which means it is a small update made to solve one specific issue. In this case, it focuses on the frequent crashes that have been affecting the PS5 version of the game. At the moment, however, the standard PS5 version has not yet received the same fix.

A separate patch for the base PS5 model is expected to arrive next week. This update should address the same crash and freezing problems reported on the standard console version.
Bethesda said, “Today we’re pushing live a quick hotfix for @StarfieldGame players on PlayStation 5 Pro that resolves crashing when using Enhanced settings.”
The company also added, “The team is preparing an additional hotfix for other PlayStation 5 crashes and freezes, targeting next week. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to our support team, it’s been incredibly helpful.”
For players using the regular PS5, there is still some waiting to do. For now, the general recommendation is to play the game in standard 30 FPS mode, although even this mode is not completely free from the reported issues.
In the meantime, a listing for Starfield on the Nintendo Switch 2 has appeared in the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee database, a strong signal that a port of Starfield is in development for Nintendo’s next-gen console.
