Bethesda Says The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Still Far From Release
The Elder Scrolls 6 was revealed back in 2018, and after many years, players are still eager to learn more. However, Bethesda is asking for patience as it explains the current state of development.
It was during E3 2018 that Bethesda shook the gaming world by announcing that The Elder Scrolls 6, the sequel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, was in development. Everyone expected it would take some time, but seven years later, we’re still waiting for a real trailer.
Recently, in an interview with GQ Magazine, Todd Howard from Bethesda shared updates on the game’s progress.
Todd Howard’s Comments on The Elder Scrolls 6
Howard stated clearly that The Elder Scrolls 6 is “still a long way off.” He added that he wants fans to remain patient and not feel anxious about the game’s release.
Howard also mentioned that he does not want to announce a release window because he dislikes giving dates that force players to wait for years.
“I like to just announce stuff and release it. My perfect version – and I’m not saying this is going to happen – is that it’s going to be a while and then, one day, the game will just appear,” he explained.
Could The Elder Scrolls 6 Launch Without an Announcement?
GQ asked if Bethesda might release The Elder Scrolls 6 without prior notice, similar to how Oblivion Remastered was released. Howard responded that the remaster of TES IV: Oblivion was an experiment that went well but did not confirm any such plans for TES 6.
Howard also revealed that Bethesda Game Studios currently has hundreds of people working on Fallout projects, including Fallout 76 and “other things.”
According to recent rumors, Bethesda may be developing a remaster of Fallout 3, similar in style to Oblivion Remastered.
As Howard has said multiple times, the next major Bethesda release will be The Elder Scrolls 6, followed later by Fallout 5. It will simply take time.
In other news, a former Bethesda senior game designer, Bruce Nesmith, stated that it will be “almost impossible” for The Elder Scrolls 6 to meet the immense fan expectations due to the high bar set by previous acclaimed titles like Skyrim.
