A Closer Look

The GT6 isn’t the fanciest looking motherboard in the world. However, for a more affordable product, it still looks pretty decent. The board uses a black PCB, and has some nice matte grey decals on it to keep it looking interesting. Add to that a strip of RGB lighting on the side, and it’s sure to look pretty snazzy in your system. Again, cheap doesn’t have to look cheap. The use of mostly black hardware certainly helps too.

It doesn’t support overclocking, so the power delivery doesn’t have to be too crazy. Sure, it’s got some VRM cooling, and it’ll still run an i7 if needed. However, don’t expect to overclock even on K-series processors. For that reason, the single 8-pin CPU header is more than enough for this motherboard too.

There are four DIMM slots, so memory support isn’t an issue. They’re not reinforced or anything, but at this price range, they don’t really need to be either.

Storage comes from six 6Gbps SATA 3 ports, giving you plenty of room for storage of a mid-range system.

However, super fast NVMe storage is also supported thanks to an M.2 mount. I am seriously impressed that it comes with M.2 cooling though, a nice premium feature on a motherboard that didn’t need to afford the luxury.

General connectivity is decent too, with dual USB 3 headers, and a few USB 2 headers.

Another nice luxury is the inclusion of an armoured PCIe slot. This means the slot will handle the weight of a bulky GPU with ease. There are three 1x slots, and a fullsize, albeit wired for 8x, slot further down too.

For connectivity, I’m again suitably impressed. There are three display outputs to work with, which is nice. Furthermore, three USB 3.0, a pair of USB 2.0 and even a Type-C connection. HD audio jacks are present, as well as Gigabit LAN. Again, nothing crazy, but certainly competent for most system builds.
