BitFenix Launches Portal Mini-ITX Chassis

Case manufacturer BitFenix has officially added the new Portal mini-ITX chassis to their line-up, featuring a unique rounded tower design with subtle curves that would not look out-of-place as either a home theatre PC in the living room or as a gaming system equipped with high-end components. The BitFenix Portal is made of aluminium and SECC steel with ABS plastic and transparent acrylic accents. It supports graphics cards up to 30mm long and CPU coolers up to 125mm in height while having room for two 2.5″/3.5″ drives plus one more 2.5″ drive.

The airflow points are hidden well on the BitFenix portal as it appears quite sleek from the front and sides, but there is a 120mm fan mounted in front while exhaust duties are handled by an 80mm fan in the rear. Both of these fans come pre-installed. To keep with the compact size however, only SFX form factor power supplies are supported and installs right beside the motherboard (hence the CPU cooler height limitation).  For convenience, the entire internal frame slides out via ball-bearing runners when components need to be installed.

The Portal Mini-ITX chassis is available in black or white versions for $139 or €129. Windowed variants are also available for each color version.
