Blizzard Confident Diablo 5 and StarCraft Will Launch in 2029 and 2030 Without Delays
After opening the exciting BlizzCon 2026 event packed with announcements, Blizzard Entertainment president Johanna Faries took the opportunity during an interview with Bloomberg to completely rule out any possibility of delays for Diablo 5 and the open-world StarCraft shooter.
On the sidelines of BlizzCon’s opening event, the senior executive at the Irvine-based company said she was quite optimistic about the release dates announced for the new Diablo chapter, which is due to arrive in spring 2029, and the StarCraft space shooter, which is instead scheduled for 2030 release.
Will Diablo 5 and StarCraft Really Be Released in 2029 and 2030?
In this regard, Faries said, “We want to convey confidence in some of our biggest bets coming forward. We’re a Blizzard that’s going to ship, and ship big, and ship on time, and all hands on deck to set those projects up for success.”
Along the same lines as the comments from Blizzard’s president are the words of Dan Hay in an interview with GamesRadar. The former Ubisoft executive, who is now directing the new open-world StarCraft shooter, said the team is very confident that the game will be released in 2030. The team has already been working on StarCraft for some time and is happy with how the project is going. This is why Blizzard feels ready to share its plans and give players a clear release window.
