Bloober Team Confirms Its New Game Is Not a Rule of Rose Remake

Bloober Team Confirms Its New Game Is Not a Rule of Rose Remake

The new game from Bloober Team is not a remake of Rule of Rose, according to the studio’s CEO Piotr Babieno, who addressed recent theories and rumors linked to the mysterious teaser website.

Babieno was very clear on the matter, explaining that the countdown ending on February 14 is not pointing to the announcement of another remake. Instead, the project Bloober Team plans to reveal appears to be something completely new.

Following these statements, some fans believe the new game could be Project M, a survival horror title announced back in February 2023 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. It is possible that the project has since moved to the newer version of Nintendo’s console.

There has also been discussion around a trademark filed by Bloober Team in 2024, which was recently updated. This trademark could reveal the official title of the project: Onyx: The Dark Grip.

Not Another Remake, But A New Project

Bloober Team Confirms Its New Game Is Not a Rule of Rose Remake

Despite the many rumors, Bloober Team has made it clear that the upcoming announcement is not tied to Rule of Rose in any form. The studio appears focused on original content, even while continuing to work on well-known horror franchises.

This approach suggests Bloober Team wants to balance its success with remakes while also building new intellectual properties for the future.

After the strong success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team stated that it aims to release large-scale games at a faster pace, taking advantage of the attention gained from the Konami classic.

The Polish studio is currently working on the remake of the first Silent Hill, but it also has several other original projects in development, following the path set by recent titles like Cronos: The New Dawn.

For now, the countdown continues, and all eyes are on February 14, when Bloober Team is expected to finally reveal what it has been working on.
