Bloodborne Has Sold Huge Numbers, Analysts Say, But Sony Keeps Ignoring It
According to estimates from Alinea Analytics, the classic action RPG developed by FromSoftware exclusively for PS4 has sold 9.3 million copies.
Thanks to its inclusion in the PlayStation Plus subscription catalog, the game’s reach has grown even further, now boasting a total of 16 million players worldwide.
Bloodborne’s Lasting Legacy
The data from Alinea Analytics also shows that the successful launch of Elden Ring encouraged many players to rediscover Bloodborne, giving the PlayStation exclusive a late but significant boost in popularity.
It’s worth noting that more than ten years have passed since Bloodborne’s debut, yet the title remains a benchmark for countless fans and a clear source of inspiration for many modern games.
Sony’s Silence Continues
Despite such impressive numbers and a success that goes far beyond sales figures, Sony still isn’t doing anything with Bloodborne. Even the new merchandise shown at TGS 2025 had briefly reignited fans’ hopes, but no announcement followed.
Why does the Japanese company continue to ignore it? It’s a difficult question to answer—especially considering Sony’s recent strategy of producing numerous remasters and remakes, sometimes even for games that didn’t seem to need them.
