What may come as a bit of a surprise to many gamers, especially considering 2K Games‘ recent, controversial handling of Borderlands 2—which hasn’t gone down well with the gaming community, to put it mildly—and the Gearbox CEO’s previous comments, is that Borderlands 4 won’t follow the recent industry trend of pricing its base version at $80 and above.
Instead, they’ve decided to price their game at $69.99! Yay! It’s kind of sad that I’m happy to hear a game is priced at $70. Although it’s not much to be excited about, it does bring me some satisfaction that gamers didn’t take well to CEO Randy Pitchford’s somewhat condescending and out-of-touch comments about true fans “finding a way to pay” the full $80.
Borderlands 4 PC Requirements
Thats not all. With the ability to pre-order the game now, Gearbox also revealed what the game’s system requirements will be, albeit they didn’t say what the PC graphics settings, framerates and resolution these PC specs target. We also don’t know if these PC requirements are with DLSS/FSR enabled.
But other than that, the requirements don’t seem too bad with Gearbox recommending using an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT on the minimum settings, which doesn’t seem too bad for a big Tripple A game.
