Borderlands 4 Reveals Its New Content Roadmap for 2026
The roadmap for Borderlands 4 has been updated today, outlining the new content planned for 2026 and adding some extra details on what players can expect in the coming months. Gearbox and Take-Two are clearly aiming for strong long-term support for the sci-fi looter shooter, starting today, January 29, with the release of a free update that introduces Photo Mode.
The plan for the first quarter of 2026 has also been clarified further, with several interesting additions scheduled to arrive very soon.
New Updates and DLC Coming by March
By the end of March, four additional updates will be released. These include two paid DLCs: one smaller release and one larger expansion known as Story Pack 1, which will add new narrative content to the game.
The launch of these two DLCs will be accompanied by additional updates aimed at improving and adjusting certain aspects of the game. While these updates are smaller in scope compared to the DLCs themselves, one highlight is the first Story Pack titled “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned.”
During the second quarter of 2026, players can expect two free content packs featuring a Raid Boss and a Takedown, along with a paid DLC that includes Bounty Pack 3.
In the third quarter of 2026, three more paid DLCs are scheduled: Bounty Pack 4, Bounty Pack 5, and a major expansion called Story Pack 2, which will further expand the game’s main storyline.
In addition to all of this, Borderlands 4 will continue to receive regular fixes and general improvements. Recently, Take-Two confirmed that Borderlands 4’s launch performed below expectations, largely due to issues affecting the PC version.
