Bugbear Wants To Make Their “Next Car Game” With You!

The creators of the physics filled carnage that was FlatOut are setting their targets on the future, preparing to create their next epic smash-em-up racer and they need your help. Earlier today they released an official statement calling for support and what better way to make sure you get the game you want than to tell them what you want!

“Have you ever hoped you could get back to the glorious days of Demolition Derby and FlatOut, climb behind the wheel of your banged-up ride and once again wreck your way to the finish line and show who’s the boss? You’re not the only one. Over the years, we’ve been asked thousands of times when are we going to get back to our roots and make another racing game that would capture the same spirit of over-the-top action and reckless racing.

We’re pleased to announce that we now have some pretty exciting news for you! Our NEXT CAR GAME is going to bring those unforgettable moments up-to-date, throw in the mix vehicle upgrading and spice it all up with massive online races where players can battle it out with their tricked out bangers.

It’s really something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and the best part of it all is that we want to make the game with YOU! We’ve managed to nail down the basic stuff on our own, and now we’re ready to show the game to you and take it to the finish line together.”

It all sounds pretty awesome and they’ve already got a great track history behind them so I have high hopes for what they can create with their next title.

Bugbear’s Creative Director and CEO, Janne Alanenpää: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the excited fan reaction to the teaser trailer we released in February. It showed us that there’s a dedicated fan base out there that are long overdue for a game that they want. That lead us to think that we should make the game together with the fans, to make sure they will have the game they want.”

“Our NEXT CAR GAME is all about fun, breakneck racing and over-the-top crashes. We don’t shy away from contact, and indeed, our in-house engine is all about what happens when cars collide with each other and the world around them at reckless speeds.”

Expect epic crashes and tight, neck-to-neck fights over the finish line on run-down racing tracks. Expect proper, big demolition derbies. Expect brand new ways for metal to bend and the defining once-in-the-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with true-to-life physics simulation.”

And don’t think that’s all. Not only the technology has been completely overhauled and brought up-to-date, but they’ve also gone to the source and figured out what a game like NEXT CAR GAME is really all about: taking your rust bucket, building it into a formidable track weapon and then battling it out on the track. To that end there’s now a lot of focus on Car building and maintainance, with hunting for rare, sought-after parts and replacing damaged components, all that brings an added tactical element to the gameplay.

NEXT CAR GAME is currently scheduled to be released on PC as digital download early 2014. It is available for pre-ordering now! If you pre-order, you get a chance to see the game early and once 10,000 pre-0rders have been reached they’ll be releasing a sneak peek of the game. Later this year will be a release of the early access, a pre-Alpha build for all pre-order customers. This is a much more complete version, but still very much in the making.

“So not only do you have a chance to join the fun right away and get access to exclusive content, you also get a chance to help shaping the game into something YOU want to play. Make no mistake about it, this game is being developed for you – don’t miss out on the chance to say your word! Want a specific game mode? Don’t think your favorite car model is included? Let’s hear it!”
