Call of Duty Developers Say Game Pass Price Increase Is a Positive Move
The price increase of Game Pass, which came with Microsoft’s overall reorganization of the service, has been heavily criticized by users. However, according to Call of Duty developers, it is seen as something “positive.”
This information comes from the X account GhostOfHope, known for sharing news and leaks about the Call of Duty series. In a recent post, they stated that they had spoken with several Call of Duty developers, who welcomed the Game Pass price hike.
It’s unclear how these statements were gathered, but considering the consistent accuracy of GhostOfHope’s reports, it’s likely that they have reliable connections within the Call of Duty development teams.
Developers See Financial Benefits for Studios
“I spoke to several Call of Duty developers who say that the recent price increase for Game Pass from $19.99 to $29.99 is a positive for the Call of Duty studios,” GhostOfHope reported.
“Financially, this will be a win for them as individuals because it will lead to more revenue which means they are more in control of their future and what they can achieve,” the post continued.
They also mentioned that if they perform well now, they could receive much bigger financial bonuses. Additionally, GhostOfHope said that “the vibe in Activision with regards to Black Ops 7 is pretty positive at the moment. A few months ago, the executive team was not happy and now they are feeling better.”
