Call of Duty May Arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 by 2027

According to well-known leaker Tom Henderson, new hints suggest that the upcoming Call of Duty title, expected in 2027, might be handled by Sledgehammer Games.

The studio recently posted new job listings seeking a Senior Technical Artist, preferably with “AAA mobile or Switch experience.” The listing humorously describes this experience as a “bonus XP.”

Henderson claims there is little doubt about the nature of this project, considering the job posts request candidates familiar with hardware similar to Nintendo’s hybrid platform.

It’s also important to note that Microsoft has committed to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, following a ten-year agreement between the two companies.

A Long-Awaited Return to Nintendo

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

As some may remember, the last Activision title from the Call of Duty series to appear on a Nintendo platform was Call of Duty: Ghosts, released on the Wii U in 2013. Since then, the franchise and the Kyoto-based company have essentially gone their separate ways.

The reasons for this “breakup” were mainly technical — Nintendo consoles’ hardware limitations made it difficult to deliver the series’ high-end graphics and performance. However, with the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, those limitations seem to have been overcome, thanks to the console’s improved specs.
