Call of Duty May Finally Arrive on Nintendo Switch in 2026, Says Journalist
Jez Corden, a journalist from Windows Central, recently reported that Call of Duty could finally be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2026. According to him, a port of the popular series for Nintendo’s console should be ready within a few months.
This information appeared on X (formerly Twitter), in response to a post by journalist Tae Kim, who questioned where the Nintendo Switch version of Call of Duty was — a version that Microsoft had promised during its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
It’s not clear which Call of Duty game will appear on the console, but based on the timeline, it is very likely to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — unless the developers decide to start with an older title.
Possible Black Ops 7 Release on Switch 2
Corden didn’t specify exactly which Call of Duty is coming to the Nintendo Switch. However, he did mention that the port is almost complete and should be released in just a few months. This suggests that the arrival of Call of Duty on Nintendo consoles will happen sometime in 2026.
He didn’t clarify which version of the console it will be for, but it’s very likely the Nintendo Switch 2, whose stronger hardware would make it easier to adapt the game — possibly as a native version rather than a cloud-based one, as seen with other demanding titles on the original Switch.
For now, we’ll have to wait for more details. It’s possible that new information could appear during Xbox’s Developer Direct in January, although it might also be revealed separately.
