Call of Duty Still More Played Than Battlefield 6 on Consoles in the U.S.
With the strong reception from both critics and players, many expected Battlefield 6 to completely change the situation in its favor. However, it seems that Call of Duty continues to be more played than EA’s title in the United States on consoles.
The information comes from Circana’s player engagement ranking, a well-known source for sales data and market trends in the U.S. gaming industry.
The engagement ranking does not refer to sales but to player involvement — specifically, the number of hours spent online in each game. While this tracking system is partial, it still provides a meaningful snapshot of the general performance of online titles.
Battlefield 6 Remains Behind Call of Duty on Consoles
Data for the week of October 13–19, which included the launch of Battlefield 6, shows a rather typical pattern among the most-played online games, despite EA’s new release.
Battlefield 6 ranked seventh on PlayStation and sixth on Xbox, while Call of Duty HQ — the platform that includes all Call of Duty titles — placed second on both consoles.
It’s true that Call of Duty HQ includes Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (and soon Black Ops 7), but given the strong start Battlefield 6 had on Steam, many thought it might overturn the trend. That clearly did not happen.
This suggests that Battlefield tends to attract more players on PC, while console players remain more loyal to Call of Duty, at least in the United States.
It’s also worth noting that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been out for a year, and the next chapter in the series is expected soon, which could help maintain its strong console presence.
