Activision released the story trailer for their Call of Duty: World War II, showing what single-player action can fans look forward to. The graphics and artwork looks quite impressive as usual. The story follows a US army private named “Red” Daniels, as he lands at Normandy and battles his way through to the heart of Germany. Other than Normandy, some familiar settings such as the Hurtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge are present.
The return to World War II is not all about loud explosions and gunfire. Activision and Sledgehammer games has been very open about wanting to show the human side of the war as well. In fact, the trailer shows a Jewish soldier trying to hide his identity from his captors. Making for a very tense scene.
As the game approaches release, Sledgehammer games also promises much more releases and single-player reveals. Those who are itching to try out the multiplayer aspect of the game will be glad to hear that the open beta will begin soon, starting September 29.
