Canon decided to feed the gear-hungry photography crowd with plenty of hardware this Valentine’s day. Not one, but two APS-C sensor DSLR camera bodies, one Mirrorless camera. Additionally, they also released a new EF-S kit lens and a bluetooth Wireless Trigger. The new entry-level DSLR camera body is called the “Rebel T7i“.
Clocking in at $749 (body only), the T7i is giving the eye to the amateur and advanced amateur photographer’s looking for a new or their first camera. The Canon Rebel T7i features a 45 point (all cross type) focus system making AutoFocus easier, faster and more consistent even for action photography. Naturally, it utilizes Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AutoFocus with Phase Detection in LiveView Mode for snappy focusing for video recording. It also sports WiFi, NFC3 and Bluetooth v4 for remote control (tethering) and image transferring on the field.

The Canon EOS 77D is what we may call a step-up from the Rebel series of camera bodies. It is designated for the more advanced, almost intermediate level photographers looking for an affordable camera body ($1049 body only).
Just like the Rebel T6i, the T7i also features a 7650 pixel RGB & IR metering sensor for accurate light metering. It also features an Anti-Flicker shooting mode to help combat the flickering caused by AC lights and monitors/TVs (actually this is just a quick fix for the ones without the experience to know how to handle flickering, it’s just a change of shutter speed in reality). Compared to the T7i and other entry-level camera bodies, there’s top LCD panel and a quick control dial.

Let’s take a quick look at the smaller brother of the new camera bodies, the Canon EOS M6 mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor.
It comes with an optional “high performance” Electronic ViewFinder called the “EVF-DC2” and as Canon says, it is an ideal option for the advanced and expert photographers looking for an easy and lightweight “take anywhere” camera.

All three abovementioned cameras are due for release in April 2017 with immediate market availability.
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM will become the newest addition to their kit lens offerings, complementing the new Rebel and entry-level EOS camera bodies. It is significantly smaller than their previous 18-55mm zoom lens (approximately 20% smaller).
According to Canon its Image Stabilization feature can eliminate as many as 4.5 stops of shake correction. The new kit lens will be available for purchase separately in April 2017 with a suggested price of $249.

Last but not least, they are also releasing a bluetooth Wireless Trigger (Remote) called the “BR-E1” which will be compatible with the newly released Rebel T7i and the EOS 77D of course. It’ll also be released to the market in April 2017 with a suggested retail price of $50.
