Capcom Reveals New Sales Numbers as Resident Evil Hits Major Milestone
Capcom has released its financial report for the last fiscal year, covering the period from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, and updated the sales numbers for its biggest franchises. Resident Evil continues to lead the company’s growth, with the famous survival horror series reaching 201 million copies sold. The result was mainly helped by the strong performance of Resident Evil Requiem, which has been one of Capcom’s biggest games in recent months.
Monster Hunter remains the company’s second best-selling franchise with 127 million copies sold, followed by Street Fighter with 59 million.
Capcom Shares Updated Franchise Sales
The updated ranking of Capcom’s best-selling series is:
- Resident Evil – 201 million
- Monster Hunter – 127 million
- Street Fighter – 59 million
- Mega Man – 44 million
- Devil May Cry – 38 million
- Dead Rising – 19 million
- Ace Attorney – 14 million
- Dragon’s Dogma – 14 million
- Marvel vs. Capcom – 13 million
- Onimusha – 9.1 million
- Okami – 4.8 million
As expected, Resident Evil Requiem became Capcom’s best-selling game during the fiscal year, reaching 6.91 million copies sold by March 31. Older games in the series also continued to perform well. Resident Evil 4 Remake sold another 3.69 million copies, Village added 3.62 million, Resident Evil 3 sold 3.46 million more copies, and Resident Evil 2 added 2.91 million.
Monster Hunter Wilds had a much slower year. The game sold only 1.32 million copies during the fiscal year, reaching a total of 11.42 million copies sold overall. The result is surprising because the game had already passed 10 million copies during its first month on the market between February 28 and March 31.
The game also sold less than Monster Hunter Rise, which sold 1.51 million copies during the same period, and the Sunbreak expansion, which sold 1.42 million.
Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 saw strong growth, selling 2.71 million copies during the last fiscal year and reaching a total of 12.94 million. The increase was clearly helped by the success of the Netflix animated series, whose second season was released just yesterday.
