Capcom Sees Record Growth in PC Game Sales, Outselling Consoles for the First Time
Capcom has revealed the results for its fiscal year 2025, showing a spectacular increase in PC digital game sales compared to the previous year. The gap is becoming more and more noticeable. In 2024, PC game sales accounted for 52% of total digital game sales, and now that figure has risen to 60%.
Capcom’s Sales Numbers
To break it down, Capcom sold a total of 46.729 million digital games in fiscal year 2025. Of these, 28.211 million were for PC and 18.517 million were for consoles. In comparison, the previous year saw 41.352 million digital game sales, with 21.604 million on PC and 19.748 million on consoles.
If we also include physical game sales, Capcom sold 5.146 million units in 2025 and 4.541 million in 2024. This brings the total number of units sold to 51 million in 2025, up from 46 million the year before, showing a significant overall increase.
First Year PC Outsells Consoles
An interesting point confirmed by these numbers is that 2025 marks the first year in Capcom’s history where PC game sales have outpaced console sales. Additionally, the digital market now makes up a much larger portion than the physical market, further solidifying PC as the main platform for Capcom games.
