Capcom Urges Players Not to Share Resident Evil Requiem Leaks Before Launch
Capcom has asked the community not to share leaks and spoilers related to Resident Evil Requiem before its release, while the company continues to remove illegal content from the internet.
Information about characters, story details, and even the ending of Requiem has already begun to circulate online. These details were shared by some players who received a copy of the game ahead of its official launch, which is set for February 27.
Capcom Calls on the Community
Capcom posted a message on social media asking fans to avoid spreading spoilers, especially now that the launch is so close.
“A request from Capcom to the Community Please don’t post or share pre-release leaks and spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem,” the message reads on X.
“We really want everyone to enjoy the game’s story and experience as much as possible. Our legal department will continue to issue takedowns and deletion notices for leaks in order to preserve your day-one experience. It’s not long now until the game is out, so we look forward to seeing all your reactions after release!”
In the meantime, Capcom is taking legal action to remove leaked material from online platforms.
Similar appeals are not new, and in the past they have not always been effective. To avoid unwanted spoilers, the safest advice remains to stay away from risky sources such as social media, forums, and YouTube until the game is officially released.
