Intel Corporation is an American multinational manufacturer based in Santa Clara, California. They are world’s second largest semiconductor manufacturer and its products include motherboard chipsets, graphics chips, embedded processors and flash memory. It provides processors for some of the biggest companies on the market including Apple, Dell and HP. Founded in 1968 by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore under the name NM Electronics, it was later renamed to Intel Corporation with a view to offer integrated electronics to the market. In the 1990s Intel became the forefront runner in terms of new microprocessor designs compared to its biggest rival at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
Over the years, Intel have acquired many companies in the technology setor including McAfee, PasswordBox and Movidius and in 2019 announced an investment of over $11 billion on a new chip plant based in Israel.
