Cherry Unveils Their Newest Keyboard Lineup

CHERRY has just announced a new lineup of professional keyboards aimed squarely at the office and home office markets, which will still undoubtedly end up mostly in the hands of gamers. Moving away from the loud, RGB-filled designs often seen in gaming, these new models focus on quiet operation, sustainability, and a professional aesthetic. The new range includes the KW 300 MX, KW 300W MX, KW 550 MX LP, and the KW X ULP 2.0 MINI.

KW 300 MX & KW 300W MX

These two models are designed for a quiet, comfortable typing experience. They feature a compact 82-key layout and are built with CHERRY’s latest MX2A switches, which have been designed to be noticeably softer and quieter than previous generations. A key selling point for these keyboards is their hot-swappable sockets, which allow users to change out switches without any soldering.

Key Features:

  • Compact 82-key layout
  • Insulated housing for quieter typing
  • Hot-swappable switch sockets
  • High-quality PBT keycaps for durability
  • Dimmable white backlighting
  • Connects via Bluetooth 5.2 or USB-C
  • AES-128 encryption for secure wireless use
  • Lower housing made from 65% recycled plastic

What About the Others?

CHERRY isn’t stopping there. The KW 550 MX LP is a low-profile keyboard with a 96% layout, designed to take up less space on your desk while still offering a full-featured typing experience. It uses CHERRY’s new MX Low Profile 2.0 switches to reduce overall keyboard height and sound.

The KW X ULP 2.0 MINI offers a compact 75% layout for those who want an even smaller option. This model uses ultra-low-profile mechanical switches and features a sleek anodised aluminium top plate. It offers multiple wireless connectivity options, including USB-C, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy, all with AES-128 encryption.

Tanja Knahn, Head of Brand & Communication at CHERRY, commented on the new products, stating: “Modern mechanical keyboards with RGB and special designs are now widely available on the market for gamers. However, the situation is different in the office and home office sectors. Countless users want modern and ergonomic mechanical keyboards in the office environment, too. Mechanical keyboards that don’t attract attention in shared offices with unpleasant typing noises and colourful RGB lighting.

“We are now fulfilling this wish with the compact and sustainable models KW 300 MX, KW 300W MX, KW 550 MX LP, and KW X ULP 2.0 MINI – all elegantly designed and wireless. The different switch technologies and form factors result in a wide range for diverse requirements.”
