CM Storm Ceres 400 PC Headset Review

Today I will be taking a look at the Ceres 400 a cost effective pc gaming headset solution from Cm Storm. Priced at just under £40 from many online retailers it’s not exactly the cheapest solution on the market, but it’s certainly a lot cheaper than a lot of the premium solutions on the market. Because of it’s price range, I’m not going to be looking for or expecting earth shattering performance today, although I do expect to see a good price vs performance ratio. For around £40 one would also expect a decent amount of build quality, as it’s still no small amount of money and it’s common sense that any consumer would like the product they’ve invested their hard earned money into to last.

Many of you will know that CM Storm are the gaming specific off shoot of well known brand Cooler Master, both of which have a loyal fan base and following for their well designed products and their rock solid performance across many products in their ranges of CPU coolers, Power Supplies, Chassis and Peripherals like the one I’m going to be looking at today.

“The Cooler Master CM Storm Ceres-400 delivers high-quality sound, in a rugged yet comfortable and light weight frame. Built for gamers “on the go” , Ceres-400 delivers great ultra mobile sound at an affordable price. High Quality 40mm drivers bring out every detail in the game so you can react quickly and hear where the action is. Specially designed sound-absorbing cushions sit comfortably on your ears and help block out distractions or chatter from other gamers. Ceres-400 lets you enjoy the comfort, quality and competitive edge of a professional-grade gaming headset wherever you go.” – Cooler Master

It’s that quote that I really want to focus on today, Cooler Master say this headset will provide a comfortable fit, portability and high quality sound, but can it deliver on all these point for such a modest price tag?

Lets take a quick look at the technical specifications, as we all love a good spec sheet:
