CM Storm Quick Fire TK Mechanical Keyboard Review

There are no shortage of choices when it comes to mechanical keyboard these days. Pro gaming is increasing in popularity by a huge margin year on year creating a big market for premium quality and premium performance peripherals and the Quick Fire TK is aimed right at the heart of that market. Sure you don’t have to be a pro gamer to need this keyboard, I my self only play gaming casually and don’t really compete online, but when it comes to spending a few hours in front of the computer to bring pain to people on games like Battlefield, DOTA, TF2 and many more, I want to have both the best tool for the job and maximum comfort.

The Quick Fire TK delivers me both these things, it’s very easy on the fingers and performance is up there with the best keyboard in it’s class. While a good mechanical keyboard such as this one can cost multiple times more than their membrane counterparts you do get multiple times the performance, quality and life expectancy from the hardware which goes a long way to justify the expenditure.

The only problem I have with it is that it doesn’t offer much all round performance and if you’re looking for something to do your daily work routing and only game occasionally, you may want to look for the full size equivalents and get the full size number pad with separate directional keys. If on the other hand you’re going to be playing a lot of games or you need something of a premium grade to take to LAN gaming events / parties, that is small enough to carry around in your backpack then this is a serious contender for the money in your wallet.

In terms of style, the initial appearance is pretty straightforward yet still stylish with it’s simplicity. Although when you fire up those back lit keys, this board is really going to stand out from the crowd and give your system a stunning style compliment.

Overall I’m really happy with what CM Storm have created here and had it had been a full size keyboard it would have earned our Editors Choice award today, but that really is just a matter of preference for me personally. I am happy however to award it our Gamers Choice Award, which is by no means a lesser award than our Editors Choice, but it is more fitting to how the Quick Fire TK performs. A recommended purchase for anyone serious about their gaming performance and comfort.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
