Co:caine City Beat Headphone Review

I’m actually rather surprised by the co:caine city beats and how well they performed, I was ready to say lots of mean things about them when I saw them and I simply don’t have anything bad to say about them, which is no bad thing of course.

Ok so I’m not exactly a fan of the lime green colour choice of the Neon edition, yet there is a full range of eight different colours and designs on their official homepage, so you shouldn’t have much difficulty finding a set that is to your liking, style and preference in general. I did however really like the darker Green Monkey edition and the monkey motif really made that set stand out for me, guess which one I wore out on my road test?

It’s important for City Beat to have a varied selection of colours and styles, it’s obvious to anyone who sees the product, checks the website or even watches the advert for them, these are a fashion accessories, a statement, a trendy product and for the most part those are the kind of product I avoid, since I’m not trendy or fashionable. Maybe I’ve seen the error of my ways however and that there are some products such as these that still offer great audio performance on top of the whole image thing.

Fashionable or not, I was always going to judge these headphones on their technical performance and while that’s escaping the point of a trendy audio accessory such as these headphones, it’s actually worked in their favour. They sound great, much better than I was expecting in fact, they cost less that most other trendy headphones, they have a cool product name, they look just as good as everything else on the market (in terms of design) within this price range and fundamentally to me their rock solid build quality is backed up by great sound. Last of all however is the price, being under 50 euro makes them not exactly cheap, but still good value for money.
