Back in the day, when Assassin’s creed 2 came out, Ubisoft was a very popular developer, mainly because it offered original games with original stories and fun gameplay. Most importantly, Ubisoft’s games used to run just fine on all platforms, including consoles and PCs. However, it all started to go downhill after Watch Dogs and the more recent Assassin’s Creed Unity title, as these two games suffered from incredibly poor performance on the PC. As a consequence, PC gamers started to lose their faith in Ubisoft, and many have said that they will no long purchase games developed by the company.
However, recent numbers suggest that Ubisoft’s PC sales have actually increased, which seems a bit odd to me, if I’m honest. The company has recently reported that its PC sales have gone up by 5 percent since earlier this year, which means that this platform now makes for 20% of its total sales. PlayStation 4 sales are still on top with 27% of all sales. Below you will find the exact breakdown.
It’s worth pointing out that Ubisoft’s mobile sales have also increased from just 6% to 18%. So at least on paper, Ubisoft is doing a pretty good job so far. In related news, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is set to come out on the PC on November 19. Do you think that this game will help restore the company’s image?
