Control Ultimate Edition Gets Tasty Update Including DLSS 3.7… But Still No DLSS 4

A hefty update for the popular game control that aims will bring with it many graphical improvements, outfits and missions to the game. One of these improvements will be the inclusion of DLSS 3.7 in the game. Why is there no DLSS 4? I don’t know.

Control Update

The March 2025 update for Control on PC significantly enhances the player experience by unlocking previously exclusive content. Pre-order outfits, including the Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear, and Urban Response Gear, are now available to all players through the Control Point in the Central Executive Sector. Additionally, the “Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience” mission, featuring voiceover by Hideo Kojima, is now accessible to everyone who finds the Dr. Tokui Tapes collectible, removing its former PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe exclusivity.

PC Enhancements

A substantial portion of the update focuses on graphical improvements catering to modern PC hardware. Key additions include HDR support, a new Ultra ray tracing preset for enhanced visual fidelity, and support for ultrawide monitors up to 48:9. Players can now fine-tune their experience with an FOV scaling setting and enjoy reduced color banding thanks to the updated SDR 10bit. Further refinements include improved graphics adapter detection, resolution fixes for ultrawide monitors, and the ability to select rendering resolutions beyond 4K, alongside various texture streaming and ray tracing bug fixes.

DLSS

The update also brings significant enhancements to DLSS support. DLSS is now available for arbitrary resolutions, and DLAA support has been added. The DLSS version has been updated to 3.7, providing higher temporal stability, and film grain has been reintroduced to DLSS SR. Shadow resolution and mip map bias have been fixed, resulting in improved texture quality, particularly when using DLSS Performance settings. Finally, the update addresses general issues, including audio fixes for cinematics and end credits, and various bug and crash fixes, ensuring a more polished and stable gameplay experience.
