The universal backplate is super easy to work with, just pop it on the back of your motherboard and you’re good to go. The screws slide to fit the socket and AMD users simply need to remove the pre-fitted screws before installation.
There are four large spacers to place on the other side, which can be done easily with your hands, no tools needed.
Two screws are then required to attach either the Intel or AMD arms to the bottom of the cooler, again, pretty simple stuff and only a single screwdriver needed.
Then it’s simply a case of applying your thermal paste and screwing down the four corners onto the spacers. The whole process takes a couple of minutes and is certainly easy enough for even a first-time system builder to do.
The fan can be mounted on either side of the tower and as you can see, it doesn’t even come close to getting in the way of your memory modules, so tall heat sinks should be absolutely fine.
