Cooler Master CM Storm SF-19 Strike Force Notebook Cooler Review

Final Thoughts
It’s another tough conclusion when you look at this item as just a notebook cooler, but when you think about the added features that it incorporates, it does give a bit of room for explanation. It has a primary role of keeping your laptop cool, but also adds in a bit of flavour with the various colour schemes that you can choose in terms of lighting which is a novel touch to say the least. With addition to the cooler working as a USB hub, and it gives the user a bit more flexability in terms of what it can do.

The tests that we performed were pretty much what we expected and gave clear results and a nice variation between the different states that we tested the cooler under; off, low and high. Even when on high, the noise levels weren’t over the top and could be put up with for prolonged amounts of time, but with an item like this we do make it clear that everyone’s ears hear different noises so for what we think is a tollerable noise level, you may find is like being in a whirlwind.

Sadly there are some downsides, and one of those is quite a big one too and the first is that some users may consider the cooler as quite bulky and cumbersome but the styling really goes well with the overall size of the unit. The main gripe we had however was with the power adapter and the need for one in general. As originally said, we’ve had a fair few of these coolers pass in front of us and they have all been very simple and do the job effectively as much as a notebook cooler can, but having the need for a power adapter to be plugged in can be quite annoying in our eyes and may put you off the product completely.

Pros:

  • Stylish looks
  • Rubber edges
  • Reliable brand
  • USB 3.0 functionality

Cons:

  • Expensive when compared to competitors
  • Bulky
  • Fans require mains adapter
