The new flagship Cooler Master Cosmos C700P case previewed at Computex 2017 is now finally available. Unlike the 25th anniversary edition Cosmos II that came out four months ago, this features a completely new design supporting E-ATX motherboards.
The Cosmos C700P provides three different options for the layout. Users can choose between regular, inverted and chimney style.
Regular is the same layout as most ATX tower cases with the GPU exhaust at the rear and the main chamber accessible via the left side panel.
Inverted layout is the opposite of regular with the main chamber open on the right side and exhaust is towards the rear.
Chimney layout has the ventilation going from bottom to top. Even the motherboard tray is at a 90 degree angle.
What makes the Cosmos C700P truly unique is its use of curved dual-tempered glass side panels. This allows builders to show off their internal components with LED lighting. Since these panels can be quite heavy, it swings open rather than being a pull-out style cover.
The front also has a convenient cover like some of Cooler Master’s MasterCase series. This creates a clean looking front while still providing external 5.25-inch drive bay mounts. It allows access to a CD or DVD drive tray opening without removing the front cover entirely.
Using the FreeForm modular layout, the C700P has plenty of swappable components as well. Users can add-on, move around or remove features they do not need to truly customize their build. Since it is a flagship case, there is also plenty of room to house components.
There are eight 3.5-inch/2.5-inch hard drive bays which can extend to nine if the 5.25-inch external bay mount is removed. Users can also choose to add another 5.25-inch bay mount (available separately).
Three 140mm fans pre-installed inside, all running up to 1200 RPM. In terms of radiator and fan support, it is even more flexible than that. Users can install 120mm, 140mm, 240mm, 280mm, radiators at the top. Even a 360mm will fit if the 5.25-inch drive bay mount is removed. The same goes for the front, except it can support an even longer 420mm radiator without the 5.25-inch drive bay in the way.
For air-cooling users, the maximum CPU cooler height supported is 198mm. Maximum video card length is 320mm, but it goes up to 490mm long if the 3.5-inch HDD cage is taken off.
The Cosmos C700P is available starting September 28 for $299 USD.
