Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced M-ITX PC Chassis Review

Now that I have the chassis out of the box, its style doesn’t leap out at me as anything groundbreaking in terms of design, but given Cooler Master have applied a nice aluminium front panel I can tell they have made a good effort to make sure its not just a boring black box, the finish does look really nice though and I do like the overall design of it. The front panel has everything you will need too, there is enough space for a full 5.25″ optical drive or similar sized device, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports as well as headset and microphone 3.5mm sockets, you can also see a recess on the left and right side of the optical bay which acts as an air intake for the pre-installed front fan.

Taking a look on the underside we can see that it’s fairly featureless underneath, not that there need to be much here of course, but it does feature 4 very sturdy rubber feet which both give it reasonable ground clearance and help with reducing vibrations from the chassis.

The top of the chassis features a grilled ventilation area to provide airflow for the Power supply, which in this case would exhaust the air from the PSU out the top of the chassis.

Both sides of the chassis feature matching ventilation, offering great airflow to both the motherboard and graphics card within the case.

Around the back we can see that the PSU is mounting within an extension bracket, meaning the PSU overhangs out of the back of the system, you can also see there are two expansion slot covers, by given the single slot nature of M-ITX boards, the 2nd slot only comes into use if you have a dual slot graphics card. Above the expansion slots there is also a circular cutout fitted with a rubber grommet that can be used for cable routing if required.
