Cooler Master GM27-CQS Gaming Monitor Review

Cooler Master GM27-CQS Gaming Monitor Review

Cooler Master may be relatively new to the monitor market, but they have consistently delivered some of the best gaming monitors I’ve ever tested… and I’ve tested quite a lot! That’s not bad for the new kid on the block, but whatever they’re doing it’s working. Their new monitor is the Cooler Master GM27-CQS and it’s basically the little brother of the mini-LED GP27Q model we tested recently, it actually looks pretty much the same and has the same refresh rate and resolution too. However, the Mini-LED comes in at the best part of £500 (or £800 for the 4K version), while this new model ditches the mini-LED backlight trickery for a more conventional VA panel which drops a few hundred quid off the price at the same time.

Cooler Master GM27-CQS

GM27-CQS utilizes an ultra-speed VA panel with an ultra-responsive 165Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms pixel response time. Featuring a 1500R curvature, the GM27-CQS supports 120% of sRGB and 90% of DCI-P3 colour spectrums. So while it may be a step down from the Mini-LED, it’s still a top-tier gaming monitor in its respective class. Whatever Cooler Master are doing though, they’re continuously delivering monitors at competitive prices with fantastic class-leading colour reproduction and great gaming performance, so I have big expectations for their GM27-CQS today.
