Cooler Master HAF X Full Tower Chassis Review

Final ThoughtsThe HAF X is a tricky one to sum up, because everyone already knows that it’s a winner and a fantastic case all-round and that’s down to the length of time that it’s been available and the copious amount of awards it’s won and we’re quite happy to add another award to its belt. We’ve always been quite keen on the HAF range, and the HAF X just tops it all off for users wanting a solid built chassis with the latest functionality and features whilst still having another room for the largest components on the market.

The tool-less features throughout the case are very nice and we love the installation of optical drives with a simple push of a button as opposed to a latch that you have to flick or turn and the added functionality for installing tons of storage devices of all sizes is a big bonus in our books.

We used components that a consumer purchasing this case is likely to install into and we found that we still had so much unused space it was unbelievable. We don’t say this in a bad way, but instead praise Cooler Master for this, as it allows for even better, improved cable management and we found things were a real pleasure to organize. If we used a more up-to-date power supply we feel that things could have been even neater still.

Cooling wise we were expecting some great results and we were given just that in several areas of the case, leaving your components nice and cool even under extreme load and immense pressure. We’re not too keen on the bracket which covers the graphics cards to aid in cooling but Cooler Master must have some marketing plan behind it but it’s just not for us.

The HAF X is definitely going to appeal to gamers in mind with it’s big exterior and bright red LED lighting show and we feel that it really does top the HAF range off nicely and with a fantastic price point of around £125, it’s perfect as you really do get so much value for money with this case.

Pros:

  • Spacious
  • Some unique features
  • Caters for plenty of storage drives
  • USB 3.0 functionality
  • Fantastic build quality
  • Accepts larger graphics cards
  • Fan LED can be turned off

Cons:

  • Expensive
