Cooler Master Hyper 622 Halo Black CPU Cooler Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Stock does seem to be really limited on these right now, with only Newegg having them in stock for around £64. However, it is getting a proper launch in the UK fairly soon, and I will update you with proper stock links for that as soon as it’s available. However, if you’re in the US, it’s currently just $64.99 on Amazon.com.

Should I Buy One?

Cooler Master is one of the most recognisable brand names in the PC market, with decades of experience creating power supplies, cases, peripherals, and of course, coolers. I think that really shows in the Hyper 622 Halo Black too, as it delivers some really incredible performance that often comes from experience and rarely from blind luck.

This is a well-designed cooler, at least in regards to the cooling aspect. It has thick heat pipes that form a U-shape, allowing them to feed into two identical cooling towers. The overall surface area and volume are impressive, allowing it to handle high TDP scenarios; such as our overclocked Intel Core i9-12900K. The trade-off was that it was running a little louder than the competition, but honestly, I’m OK with that if the performance is this good. It means that the consumer has a choice for impressive cooling performance on those hot days when they have a lot of CPU-heavy work to do. However, you can drop the fan profile of your motherboard down to silent, and it’s still going to be a competent cooler.

The aesthetics are impressive, but I don’t think having two fans suits the design. While it’s a nice-looking fan on its own, and a stunning-looking cooler, I just don’t think they mesh well together, but you can add it if you need it, or leave it off for a more slimline design.

Should I Buy One?

It’s pretty hard to find a better cooler for this kind of money. With the easy installation, the additional 120mm fan, the premium heatsink design, and the respected brand name that Cooler Master is, the price seems extremely reasonable to me. Highly recommended!
