Cooler Master Masterbox TD500 Mesh V2 Case Review

Design

The biggest focus of the TD500 Mesh V2 case has to be the rather unique design. The Polygonal FineMesh Front Panel looks fantastic, with a 3D design that flows rather nicely and gives you some cool light and shadow effects that are sure to look even better when the RGB fans are powered on. There’s a large surround to it too, that sort of overhangs the mesh which does look a little bulky, but I think the design works well.

However, it’s how that design flows into the left side panel that really gets your attention. The lines of the front panel continue into this crystalline pattern that’s cut into the glass. Honestly, this is something new to me, and having seen a thousand normal tempered glass side panels over the last few years, this is really freaking cool.

I would say it looks much better in person than on camera. But if I play around with the angles a little, I think you get a general idea. The cut is on the outside too, you can run your finger down it, it’s a couple of millimeters deep.

At the top of the front panel, you have an angled I/O panel, actually, most things are at an angle on this case, which looks pretty cool overall. There’s a central power button in the shape of the Cooler Master logo too.

Even the rear I/O looks rather funky, with the fan mount, ventilation, and expansion slots all having some cool angular cut ventilation; I like attention to detail like this.

Even on the interior, things look pretty smart, with even more angular lines and ventilation, and a matching interior paint job (the white case is white inside too, and the black case is black inside too). There’s also a set of black grommets, but the white case gets grey grommets. There’s a removable cover to show/hide the side of the power supply too.
