Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Unleashed Today!

Cooler Master’s revolutionary MasterCase 5 chassis has finally been unveiled and features the world’s first mid-sized modular tower with exterior expandability. The MasterCase 5 was originally shown as a modder-friendly concept at Computex this year. To properly assess these claims, we took a closer look at the chassis’ unique features.

This particular case is characterized by the patented FreeForm modular system which utilizes a dual-chamber design to provide unparalleled flexibility. Each component is adjustable from the top panels to the side door. This makes it the perfect choice for project logs and enthusiasts looking to create a truly unique build. Additionally, the modular construction means you can easily upgrade the panels over time or change a certain aspect to create a new aesthetic style.

Cooler Master have also opted for drive cages which can be removed or vertically adjusted without impacting on the overall durability. There are 4 Slip-and-Clip Pockets to allow for tooless 2.5″ drive installation. The MasterCase 5 features 4 in total, 2 behind the motherboard tray and another 2 above the Power Supply Bay.

Another highlight is the chassis’ ventilation which comes from removable, mesh dust-filters. As a result, the dust build-up on fans is reduced and cleaning a filter takes seconds under water. In terms of cooling, the case is bundled with 2 140mm fans which is a little underwhelming considering there is support for 6 fans. You can even use 3 140mm fans in the front or a 280mm radiator, providing it’s no thicker than 40mm.

Cable management is a breeze thanks to the ample supply of durable rubber grommets. These are positioned in the perfect location to cleanly feed through the 8-pin EPS, 24-pin, and PCI-E cables.

The MasterCase 5 and MasterCase Pro 5 is now available and designed to suit different types of PC builders. Cooler Master created the MasterCase 5 as a simple, cheaper option which allows you to choose specific upgrades whilst the Pro 5 is a fully upgraded model.

Prices for the MasterCase 5  are expected to be around £89.99 and the MasterCase Pro 5, £109.99.
