Cooler Master Mastermouse MM530 RGB Gaming Mouse Review

A Closer Look

The new MM530 from Cooler Master comes with a hard-wired USB cable. The cable is durable, lightweight, and has a good sleeving that’ll stop it snagging on your desk. The USB header is quite compact too, which is great for those using it on a gaming notebook.

The design is quite similar to some older Cooler Master mice but finely tuned to make it more comfortable for claw/fingertip grip play styles. The mouse is quite slim, but a little longer, making it easy to hold and easier to control.

The rubber grip on the left side means you can really dig your fingers in, and even use a lift off technique. It’s very hard wearing too, so it shouldn’t fade even after extensive use.

This is a right handed mouse, and the ergonomics are sculpted to reflect that. It also means there are no controls on the right side, instead you get another large grip surface for added control.

Both the LMB and RMB are mounted on their own panels, giving you more accurate control and tactile feedback from each of the OMRON switches. Built into this mouse is RGB lighting on the rear logo, as well as the mouse wheel, allowing you to create custom profiles and effects to suit your needs. There’s also separate DPI up and down controls, with up to four profiles on each. Every button is programmable though, so you can repurpose those buttons if you desire.

Two large slipmats and a rather featureless base allow the MM530 to glide effortlessly, even on softer gaming surfaces. The sensor is located in the sensor and is a Pixart 3360, which promises lag-free 1:1 readout up to 12000 DPI.
