A Closer Look

The MasterMouse Pro L comes hard-wired with a durable black braided cable, which features a shorter design gold-plated USB header.

The mouse has a really nice modern and clean look to it, thanks in no small part to that lovely finish on the plastics, which has an almost granite appearance. It feels as good as it looks too, ever so slightly textured, grippy, yet still quite smooth at the same time, and the matte finish means it doesn’t attract fingerprints much either.

Down the left side of the mouse, three small LED indicators towards the front, perfect for checking your selected profile, two side buttons, and a nice ergonomic curve that allows you to get a firm hold on the mouse regardless of your grip style.

Around the right side, the design is pretty much the same; this is an ambidextrous mouse after all!

There are three switches up top, the LMB and RMB, as well as a clickable scroll wheel. What’s interesting is that there’s no DPI/Profile switch up top. Tucked into the rear of the mouse, a wide LED lit strip, which we’ll see in action shortly.

On the base, three Teflon slipmats give the mouse extra glide, although it’s helped even more by its fairly lightweight design, as it glides well on thicker mats, as well as on hard cloth surfaces. There’s DPI switch on the base, which may not appeal to some gamers, but we know some gamers like it out of the way for gaming competitions; less buttons to hit equals less things to go wrong mid-game.

There’s a rubber cap on the base too, pull this off and reach for your screwdriver, there’s a screw hidden quite deep within the mouse.

Once undone, you can lift off the top cover, allowing you to swap out for the longer/shorter one as required.

You can swap out those lovely side panels too, and you can better see that one has a more matte black finish compared to the granite effect of the other; here it is at stock.
