Cooler Master MM830 – OLED, RGB, D-PAD, And Beyond!

Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The Cooler Master MM830 RGB Gaming Mouse launches today with a price of around £59.99. It’s a little more expensive than some mice with this level of performance. However, you pay a little more and get a little more when it comes to features. The RGB lighting and OLED may not be for everyone, but they’re welcome additions for those that want something a bit different.

Overview

For all its aesthetical prowess, the Cooler Master MM830 is a rock solid performer. When it comes to both work and gaming, the new PixArt sensor is one of the finest on the market. It’s not too crazy in terms of specifications. However, with surface tuning, angle tuning, adjustable DPI, four DPI profiles, and more, its performance is faultless. I doubt many users will tweak the advanced settings, but it’s nice to have the features should you need them.

Build Quality

The PixArt sensor is a quality choice for sure. However, the PBT construction, durable braided cable, gold-plated USB header, etc, are all confident signs. That mouse feels robust and has a good weight to it. However, it’s not too heavy as some feature-packed can be. Omron switches, an OLED display and great LED lighting all help sweeten the deal and give it a premium look and feel too.

Performance

It may be covered in bells and whistles, but the core performance is what really makes the MM830 a great mouse. When it comes to competitive gaming or just at-home chill out gaming, it’s pretty versatile. Being able to customise the button layout, as well as having that D-Pad, all add up. It doesn’t take too long to configure the layout either, and the macro engine is pretty easy to use too. With multiple profiles saved to the mouse, you can go from work mode to eSports more at the touch of a button.

Should I Buy One?

Admittedly, those gaming in eSports will likely buy a more focused mouse. Those working in a professional environment will likely buy something less “gamer” looking. However, the level of features makes this a solid all-around performer. For me, I do my writing, my editing, my gaming, all on the same PC. Having a mouse that can benefit all of those things makes the MM830 very appealing to me. If you need a mouse with lots of features… and then even more features, for a pretty reasonable price, the MM830 is perfect for you!
