Corsair H100i RGB Platinum CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

Retailing for a price of £124.99, this is without a doubt one of the best value coolers on the market in terms of price to performance. The test results alone clearly indicate that this cooler is capable of outperforming many of its competitors. A significant amount of which comes with a much higher price tag and far more complicated (and less convincing) design. When you take this into consideration, the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum is truly excellent!

Design and Ease Of Use

While this cooler might have a lot going for it in terms of presentation (and it does) the H100i series in the past has always been associated with high-performance cooling and that should not be ignored here. Despite how great this cooler looks (and it does look great with fantastic RGB lighting), it provides a seriously good level of CPU temperature control. Our test results are a clear indication of that!

Don’t think that just because this has RGB lighting that it’s not a serious contender. Our test results clearly indicate that the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum, while fun on the surface, is all business too!

Overview

As we said in the beginning, Corsair has a fantastic reputation for CPU  coolers and with good reason! Is this cooler perfect? No. Then again, we’ve never seen one that was. In terms of both performance and presentation, the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum is absolutely spot-on for meeting the vast majority of PC owners needs! Whether you like a simple set-up or pushing your hardware to the limits.

We would, however, put extra emphasis on the performance. With the near silent fan operation, to achieve tests results as solid as those we saw here is very impressive indeed.

The Corsair H100i range of CPU coolers has enjoyed an excellent reputation of being one of the best and affordable coolers on the market. This updated model is no exception to that rule and even finds room to improve! We’re highly impressed!

Pros

  • Amazing Performance figures!
  • Near silent operational noise.
  • Fantastically bright and vivid RGB lighting effects.
  • Easy To Install
  • Solid and Reliable
  • Excellent value based on performance.

Cons

  • The lack of a supplied AMD backplate will catch many buyers out! In addition, the AMD installation has a bit of a ‘Frankenstein/reverse engineered’ feel about it.

Neutral

  • None.
