Corsair H115i RGB Platinum CPU Cooler Review

A Closer Look

Out of the box, the Corsair H100i has a solid professional look. Everything is in a nice sleek black with the exception of a silver trim to the surround of the pump head block and to the Corsair logo placements. The pipes leading to the radiator are a little stiff (making movement a little awkward) but most people would rather prefer a little movement tightness than a compromised (and weaker) pipe design.

There is a fair amount of cabling attached to the pump head. This has, however, all been designed to minimise rogue cables going off in different directions. The pump head essentially acts as the central hub which then goes to power not just the RGB to the radiator fans, but also the fan mechanism itself.

Pump Block

The pump block carries a design that anyone familiar with Corsair AIO products will recognise immediately. While Corsair has not externally modified the design too much, this updated cooler does carry a number of improvements to the pump technology. All of which should help promote an excellent movement of the AIO liquid coolant.

The contact plate is nice and large and comes with thermal paste pre-applied. With this in mind, you should have no trouble ensuring that when this is fitted to your processor, you have a nice large coverage area to help promote excellent heat dissipation.

Radiator

The radiator has a nice sleek black design and a nice bold Corsair logo to the side. In terms of design while not immediately obvious, the more you handle it the more you understand that it is just slightly wider than your average radiator. With a larger radiator and fans working together, this should really help promote good airflow without requiring the amount of room necessary for larger (360mm) coolers.

Fans

The Corsair H115i RGB Platinum is provided with 2 RGB enabled fans which are clearly slighter larger than usual at 140mm to accommodate the radiator. With them being specifically designed to provide not just lighting, but low operational noise, these have a very professional design.

What is perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the fans though is that they are nearly silent. When we ran these during testing the noise of the power supply (which are not overly noisy themselves) completely drowned out what little this made. If a quiet runner is a top priority for your system, this definitely ticks that box!

Overall Design

On more than one occasion while checking the overall design, I completely forgot that this was slightly larger than your standard 2-fan AIO cooler. While it does look bigger, the design, however, still managed to look sleek and highly professional. With this being touted for ‘extreme performance’ the overview of it would certainly fall in line with that ethos.

RGB Lighting and iCUE

While performance is a key factor in this design, it’s also important to understand how the lighting both looks and operates! In terms of the fans and their RGB operation, this is controlled via Corsairs iCUE software. This can be downloaded directly from their website and provides a full and detailed amount of customisable options for the RGB lighting and fan control.

In terms of the lighting effects themselves. We’ve compiled a brief video below showing both the fans and pump head in action!
