Corsair Harpoon RGB Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this product wasn’t even released. It’s due to be revealed to the public on the day we publish this review, while we’re at CES 2019. We’ll be at the show, bringing you all the latest. We’ll update this page as soon as we can. However, check with your favourite retailers for up to date pricing if required.

Overview

Corsair has a rock solid reputation for creating some of the most loved and best-performing peripherals on the market. Of course, their reputation is untarnished with the introduction of the new wireless Harpoon RGB gaming mouse. This is every bit as good as the old wired model, but thanks to the new features, it’s obviously just that little bit better too.

Performance

Look back a few years and you’ll have been right to say “Wireless gaming? Hell no, the lag is awful!” However, the new ultra-low latency 2.4g and Bluetooth connectivity on offer mean that wireless can even have less input lag than wired. To me, a non-pro gamer, that difference isn’t even noticeable. However, if you’re clocking your gaming performance in the hundredths of a second, then it just might. The great thing about the Harpoon is it works wired, or on two different kinds of wireless. Furthermore, it even comes with a USB dongle for systems without native support.

Work and Gaming

This is a gaming mouse, albeit a fairly straightforward one. It has a typical six-button configuration that covers all of the basics. Of course, you can fully reprogram all the buttons to suit your needs, even adding macros and timers through the software if you desire. However, the default setup is more than enough for me with this one. Because it’s not some 12 button behemoth, it’s just as friendly in the office for work as it is for gaming. At the end of the day, we can all benefit from a fantastic optical sensor, quality switches, and fast response times in daily tasks, not just in gaming.

Should I Buy One?

Corsair has taken an already award-winning and popular product and made it even better. This is the best version of the Harpoon we’ll see for a while now. Great wireless and wired performance, tasteful RGB lighting, great software customisation, a fantastic sensor, and durable build quality. We really can’t find a single fault with it. Highly recommended.
