Power Supply Unit
Corsair use their custom 135mm fan for the HX1000i, despite their specifications listing it as a 140mm fan. The fan looks similar to the one used on the RM1000 but with a Fluid Dynamic Bearing instead of a Rifle Bearing the HX1000i gets a more durable and quieter overall fan.
On both sides of the PSU Corsair use the same branding but reversed to make sure it faces the right way up depending on how you choose to mount it.
On the base we find the rather “un-glamorous” power label, most users will keep this hidden and have the fan facing upwards for better aesthetics. When power supplies are this efficient it also doesn’t really matter which way around the fan goes.
At the modular end we find a clearly labelled selection of connectors and there are a significant number given that this is a 1000W unit. You can run up to two CPUs and 4-Way graphics configurations with the number of connectors this unit provides. Corsair also provide Corsair Link connections for digital controls and monitoring as well as a fan test button which only requires that you have the PSU connected to the mains.
At the rear we find some branding, lots of hexagonal mesh, a large power switch and a kettle lead input.
