Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT Keyboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair K55 RGB Pro XT launches today and should soon be available at most major retailers. It has an MSRP of just $69.99, while the more affordable K55 RGB Pro will be just $49.99. We’ll update this section with proper buying links and UK prices as soon as we can.

Corsair has a long history of awesome gaming peripherals, and it’s clear that this still holds true. While this isn’t truly a budget keyboard, it’s still one of the most affordable in the Corsair range. It’s a lot more affordable than their flagship mechanicals, which can cost North of £200. However, you get a huge number of features that still makes it competitive with many of their more expensive models too, which is impressive.

RGB

The lighting technology is on point here, which is no surprise given the reputation Corsair has built for themselves around their lighting technologies. Full per-key lighting and seemingly endless customisation options via iCUE will keep you entertained for hours. Of course, you still have the option to set it to fixed colours or turn it off; it doesn’t all have to be flashy rainbows!

Elgato

The integration of Stream Deck support is great too, as the Stream Deck software from Elgato will see the keyboard and treat it much like one of those devices. They’re still macro keys if that’s what you want, but with Elgato Stream Deck software, there’s much deeper integration with things like OBS, Twitch, YouTube, etc.

Should I Buy One?

The plunger switches are awesome to work on and even better for gaming. It’s as good as any rivals high-end membrane keyboards, so no complaints there. It’s light, fast and responsive, which is what you want. The awesome RGB, the Stream Deck integration, detachable wrist rest, multimedia controls, IP42 dust and spill resistance, and much more all add up to a keyboard that offers way more than its price tag suggests!
