Corsair KATAR PRO XT Ultra-Light Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair KATAR PRO XT Ultra-Light Gaming Mouse is available today and will be available at all the usual big-name retailers. Amazingly, despite coming from a premium brand, and using a premium quality PixArt sensor and Omron switches, this mouse is just £35! I mean… That’s value that is very hard to beat. It’s quite a bit less than rival brands ultralight gaming mouse offerings too, so I think Corsair will clean up with this launch.

Overview

Corsair is a leading brand for a reason, they’ve worked hard to build one of the strongest reputations in the industry. They’ve had a relentless focus on build quality, and while that has often come at a premium price, the KATAR PRO XT is proof that even their more affordable solutions still uphold the same standards.

The shedding of weight makes this mouse extremely comfortable and nimble. Plus, it’ll reduce a bit of fatigue in those marathon work and gaming sessions. However, despite the weight shedding, the mouse doesn’t feel any less robust. Furthermore, it doesn’t really look any different than a regular mouse.

If anything, the KATAR PRO XT is a bit boring to look at. Or perhaps it would be better to say it’s understated. I like the design though, it’s not in your face, it’s not overly RGB illuminated, and you would feel just as comfortable having it in the office as you would as part of your gaming rig.

It’s not overly complicated, but six programmable buttons, an 18,000 DPI optical sensor, and those gorgeous Omron switches mean it has more than enough to satisfy any PC gamer. Plus, if you need more buttons, it’s not like this is the only mouse Corsair produces.

If you’re looking for a lightweight, responsive and reliable work and gaming mouse, the KATAR PRO XT is a great option. Plus, at just £35, it’s not going to break the bank and sets a new standard for affordable mice.
