SSD’s are clearly the way forward and with an inclusion of the new SandForce SF-2281 controller, it shows that any drive with it means business.
Corsair’s new SandForce drives; Force 3 have this technology and shipping has already commenced to consumers. Sadly there is a slight problem and it involves the Force 3 120Gb version not meeting Corsair’s specifications set out for the drive.
Due to this, Corsair are recalling its Force 3 120 GB SSD model: CSSD-F120GBG3-BK (Only the single model) After Corsair noticed a hardware issue which left the Force3 120GB with less performance than advertised.
According to sources, both the hardware and firmware on the drives will need changing to meet the specifications set out on paper but faith will be restored soon. The other models (60GB and 240GB) remain unaffected and will continue to be sold until the 120GB can be added back into the product range.
