How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Gaming Mouse is available now from most major retailers. However, since I’m writing this review prior to the launch, I don’t have proper retail links. However, I know it’ll have an MSRP of just $59.99 USD, and you can check for up to date stock and pricing on Amazon here.

Overview

When I heard this was going to be an ultra-light gaming mouse, I thought it would just be another mouse on a diet and ready to compete with the ultra-light mice from every other brand. However, Corsair has really gone above and beyond with this mouse, and there isn’t a single thing on it that isn’t designed to be the best in its class.

Performance

Gaming mice like the SteelSeries Aerox 3 and the Mountain Makalu 67 pose significant competition to the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro. They’ve got their own unique elements that make them stand out. In fact, there’s a lot of amazing gaming mice out there for similar money these days. However, it’s clear that Corsair has done enough here to forge their own path too. The AXON technology is a clear advantage for Corsair. A typical casual gamer won’t really feel the benefit of an 8000Hz polling rate. However, the enthusiast that chases higher FPS from their GPU, higher refresh rates from their monitor, and lower ping times from their internet, anything else that can shave off those milliseconds is certainly going to appeal. For competitive eSports, an 8x reduction in input latency cannot be ignored.

Click and Slide

The mouse buttons are about the most responsive I’ve used, you can really spam them at incredible speed as they’re so right and tight on the switch, with a great return speed. For those chasing for higher CPM, this will get the job done. Plus, with the higher polling rate, you’ll never miss a beat.

The sensor is simply awesome, pixel perfect right through the range, even up to 18,000 DPI. Plus, with 50G acceleration and 450 IPS, even the most enthusiastic gamer won’t be able to throw it off the pace.

Should I Buy One?

This isn’t a complicated mouse to hold or use. It’s a simple five-button design (six with the profile button). However, Corsair has made it lighter, made it glide more effortlessly with larger PTFE pads, they’ve tightened up the switches, given it a better cable, given it Hyper-Polling technology to speed up response times. Everything about this mouse is tuned for speed, precision and comfort, and it really shows. It’s a straightforward mouse done to perfection.
